The Lucie Awards Gala Ceremony will be held October 15, 2007
at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center, NYC at 6 pm.

The Lucie Awards and The Pilsner Urquell 'International Photography Awards Competition' are the world's most prestigious photography contest and award ceremony honoring the greatest achievements in photography, modelled on the rather more established Oscars. The name comes from the Latin 'Lux' meaning light, the basis of photography, and the award sculptures are based on photographs by two well-known photographers of the first half of the 20th century, the Czech Frantisek Drtikol and the German-born British photographer E. Otto Hoppe.

You will find a full list of photographers to be honored for their achievements on the Lucie web site. As well as photographers in various areas including Portrait Photography, Documentary, Fine Art, Advertising, Photojournalism, Fashion and Sports. Also included in the Lucie awards evening are the 'International Photographer of the Year' awards.

IPA Competition has announced the 2007 winners.
This year's competition received 20,000 entries from over 90 countries.

Recipients will be published in the 2007 Annual IPA Awards Book.
